About Me
Thomas O'Shea, aka TY’O (pronounced "Tie-Oh") is a music producer, composer, audio engineer, multi-instrumentalist, singer, and songwriter. His love for music began at a very young age, with piano. He took interest in the keyboard at the age of 5 and started lessons at age 6. Soon after, he started to sing. With a love for the unusual, Thomas enjoys giving himself challenges and restrictions in different ways including making music with plastic bottles and creating full songs out of minimal equipment (like only using one synth), or even flipping memes and TikTok videos into remixes. One of his projects that he is know for is mixing memes, dialogue, or things important to him into music on his YouTube on a series titled "TY'O Flipped That." Having performed many different genres, Thomas is knowledgeable in many different styles of music spanning from classical to hip hop, pop to alternative and more. His sound can be comparable to artists, producers, and songwriters such as Sickick, Jon Bellion, Marshmello, FredAgain., Tyler the Creator, Metro Boomin, and Skrillex. Thomas has been recognized by audio engineers, producers, composers and musicians alike having worked with artists like ILY Truly, Chrissy!, Alyssa Caroline, and Vuski; producers like Daniel Saint (Phora, Lexnour), KXVI (21 Savage, Lil Tjay), A2RBEATZ (Lil Yachty, Creek Boyz); and Yousef Semah (21 Savage, $UICIDEBOY$); and composers like Lilly Lavon Scott, Mack Booth, Micah Gehring, and Kate Rothschadl.
Thomas graduated with Honors from the University of Wisconsin, Oshkosh with a Bachelors Degree in Audio Production and Music Business and a Certificate in Music Composition. While in school, his work was featured in UW Oshkosh Music Department events including the Annual Recording Concert, Titan Bistro (a variety event), Choir Concerts, and Composition Recitals. He also gave a Senior Recital presentation which featured classical pieces and recordings of his work. He has studied audio production with Nathan Edwards, music composition with Dr. Ed Martin and Dr. John Mayrose, and solo piano with Dr. Eli Kalman. Thomas wrote a creative Honors Thesis titled Dances with the Devil; a project consisting of multiple genres telling a story about demons, angels, fights, and love. He continues to work in the Madison and Oshkosh areas as a music producer and studio sound engineer, live sound engineer, composer, pianist and private lessons instructor.

A Versatile Sound Engineer
As a live sound engineer, Thomas as done it all. From work with well know entertainment acts outside of music including comedians, magicians, and other entertainment acts as seen on America's Got Talent, Penn and Teller's Fool Us, and even Ru Paul's Drag Race. Some non-musical acts Thomas has had the privilege of working with include names such as Chris Jones (AGT and Double Take), Cam Bertrand (AGT), Eric O'Shea (AGT and Creative Emmy Awards), and Mrs. Kasha Davis (Ru Paul's Drag Race and Workhouse Queen) just to name a few.
As a sound engineer and lighting programer for live music, Thomas works with a variety of genres including Country, Jazz, Classic Rock, Pop, Hip Hop, Metal and Bluegrass- his specialty is Bluegrass due to the popularity of it in Madison, WI. Some notable performers, bands and groups Thomas has worked with include Skerryvore, grouptherapy., Indigo De Souza, Don't Mess With Cupid, The Astronomers, Daniel LeClaire, Dogtown Hollow, Panchromatic Steel, Oshkosh Symphony Orchestra, and Pat McCurdy.
